History: Labor Day to most people has become a weekend celebration of cooking on the grill, getting out on the boat or to the beach, and going to parades. Sounds like a good time to me! Yet, I found myself wondering, what did Labor Day mean to it’s founders? I did some research, and who can explain the history of Labor Day better than the U.S. Department of Labor? Read it here: “The History of Labor Day” Creating a “workingmen’s holiday” makes complete sense to me, considering the amount of work that was expected from people then.
Fashion: If you’ve ever been curious about the wearing white after Labor Day taboo, be sure to check out our Fresh Fashion newsletter article, The White Law. Another fun fact about wearing white after Labor Day that you may not know, is that even the U.S. Navy switches from their dress whites to their dress blues.
Celebrate: One Labor Day connection that I could not make, was when the link between Labor Day and Labor Day sales began… If you can find it, you have some awesome research skills and I congratulate you! Feel free to share!
